Dear Guggenheim Families,

It is with great enthusiasm and tremendous excitement that I write this letter to introduce myself. My name is Arzu Alkan and I am the new School Counselor at the Guggenheim Elementary School. I am thrilled to be working with your children!

I am very passionate about connecting with students and collaborating both with teachers and families so that children can reach their full potential.

 As expressed beautifully in parts of the District Guidance mission statement, we collaborate “to recognize the worth and dignity of each student and to provide an education which will lead to the full development of all students. ” 

A parent myself with elementary-school aged children, I believe we do share some of the similar excitements and worries. This year, together, we will look at where the students are academically, socially and emotionally and come up with strategies to help them navigate. In this partnership, your role is crucial.
